Who are some textiles artists who use trees in their work?
-
I am doing GCSE textiles and for my homework I need to find a textile artist who is inspired by trees and uses them in their work. I have to be able to replicate their work so it can't be too complicated and I only have a few days to do it! Thank you! :)

Are you needing a contemporary artist/designer, or are historical figures useful to you? William Morris certainly used plants of all kinds, including trees. Lucienne Day produced a lot of plant and tree-based textile designs post WWII. Armi and Vilja Ratia founded the Marimekko textile company in 1951, and they have fantastic tree designs in their range.
