Any ideas for a 2d visual arts work on ancient china?

im doing a 2d work on ancient china where you can layer different mediums (not nessesarily) like paint, paper, foil etc. to depict someting about life or lifestyles or anything really about ancient china? any ideas at all? even if its just a one worded response.. like.. "dragons" much appreciated.

Women were not well recorded aspects of ancient china. However, the religions and the leaders were. One aspect of the ancient religion was the jade -- a green stone believed to repel evil. There is one case where a nobel was buried and armored in jade pieces from head to toe. Jade was also believed to represent the five virtues. You could have a hay day representing different valued objects and their mystic powers. It would be fun to also include scraps of the old texts also -- I Ching may be one.
