How To Use An Airbrush?

Can you use airbrush paint without the airbrush?

  • I am going to paint a bodysuit for a cosplay (Midna from Zelda: Twilight Princess, if you're curious) and I've heard that the best way to do it is to use an airbrush and Createx paints. I've been looking online and at stores, etc., and the cheapest I can find for an airbrush and compressor is about $70-$80. I really can't afford that. The whole point of making this costume is so that I don't have to buy a $140 cosplay. So my question is, what are the drawbacks of just using brushes and painting directly on it, without the airbrush? Also, if you know a super cheap option for buying the airbrush and compressor, that would be amazing... (and please don't just tell me to go on Craigslist or Amazon or Ebay. Trust me, I've already been there.)

  • Answer:

Dab the paint on with a sponge. Quick and easy. Just pour the paint in a plate. Sponge covers a huge area at once. Good sponges are the big soft ones in the tile section at home depot.

well I use my toothbrush, (not the one I'm brushing my teeth with!) I can control the pressure and everything, it's like airbrush. or for different forms you can always try unusual things. I sometimes use crumpled piece of plastic bag
