How do i get a super 8 vintage effect?

• Ive thought of this great idea for my extended project for college, and basically we start next month, because we have a year to complete the project ive decided to make a movie on my life and the events that happen this year, summer is going to be amazing because im going on holiday with my friends. Im going to buy the canon eos 600d to record the videos in HD but i also really want to use a super 8 effect or film camera to record parts of my movie and give it that vintage sort of effect to make it look edgy. in the music video 'cheers' by rihanna she has used a canon super 8 film camera and i want to achieve that sort of effect the only problem is i don't own one and i cant afford to keep buying film cartridges that are so expensive and only record for up to 2minutes. where can i get a super 8 effect for my project, are there any digital cameras out there that supply a super 8 effect???im only 17 not a photography professional so i don't want anything to difficult to get around. but i really need a super 8 sort of effect. please help, thanks!
