  • Hello, im 17 years old, most of the people my age could care less, but living with older people has kinda opened my eyes a Little, I wanna have a style thats unique to me, "building on top of the past to build a brighter future" Or something like that... You what I mean, those shapes with paterns on them, i dont know what to search for cause I want my art to be influenced by the 80's, 90's And if possible , early 2000's But I dont know what to type up or where to look

  • Answer:

You're going about it the wrong way if you want to only look via the internet. You need to go to a major museum that's near your area. There's more than just seeing the general visuals, it's the material used, the presentation, the pattern, the textures. There are SOME things you can look at though that the internet can be useful in. Fashion and color schemes or get a rough idea of some of the general big names of art in each time period: 80's Longo (especially check out the fashion in his drawings and see how business like the 80's were), Andres Serrano, etc 90's-2000's Hirst, Matthew Barney, etc. But also, believe it or not, music album covers. That's a great microcosm on how styles changed
