Is graphic arts the same as digital media?

I'm applying for a college class where I want to learn about photoshopping and that kind of stuff. the only class I can find is beginning to digital media. is this right for me? I'm in need of quick help!

Answer:
No it's not the same though they have a huge overlapping area. Graphic arts is also about non-digital media and digital media is also about animation and 'stuff'. It very well never touch the photoshop part of that area of expertise. Digital media can be about web design and/or the actual technical in's and out's of digital things. Be sure it's a creative course and not a technical one. Send that college an E-mail to make sure what that course is offering.
