Is there a printer than can print on canvas?

Can I print on to artists canvas using my desktop inkjet printer?

  • woudl I be able to buy a sheet of artists canvas, cut it down and produce a high quality print using my desktop inkjet printer?

    It would probably be too thick for a normal ink-jet and I doubt the ink would work well on canvas as it is designed for paper.

In order to run through an inkjet printer you needed a specially coated canvas which I've never seen in sizes that would fit into an normal inkjet printer. I work for a canvas printing company that prints digital files onto canvas but we use a large 44inch wide printer that's specifically designed for the job. I'd suggest contact such a company and talking to them about printing your files as I'm sure it'd save you a stack load of time and money.

no - its too thick. you can get paper that will then become a transfer and you can iron it onto the canvas

Don't even think to try it! It will wreck your printer! Try using a canvas type paper, they are widely available. Or go to a specialist photo printer in you area who will do one for you for a price.

Try a dry-transfer tee-shirt kit. You can purchase special coated paper at the office supply store that runs thru your printer (like regular paper) and then you can iron the image to a tee-shirt or other fabric item.

I wouldn't use regular canvas you should try and google fredrix artist canvas for inkjet printers I'm pretty sure they make it.
