Element rock-paper-scissors: which elements beat which?

  • I need to know for a card game i'm thinking up (for my own amusement, and honestly i may never even make the cards, simply bc it seems like too much work). The deck is based off of the tarot (which was originnally used for card games, infact its similar in design to modern playing cards, and in france all the tarot decks have the suits of modern playing cards rather than the traditional tarot set). The deck has four suits (swords, coins, stars, and hammers, if you care, also contemplating alternate suits of flowers and crowns). Each suit has 14 cards, 10 numbered cards, and four face cards (like some tarot decks). This creates a total of 56 cards, so i want to have a set of 4 trump cards to even it out. But i dont want them to be like tarot trump cards, where they're basically their own suit, with one card on top that trumps them all, rather i prefer the four trump cards to be a circle, each one beating another trump card, but being defeated by another. This way, there is no 'i win' card. But i cant seem to find any information on typical rock-paper-scissors-like element systems, even though i recall them once being very common in computer rpgs (even pokemon uses it, though it has alot more than 4 elements). Can anyone help me?

First of all Mr Bacon, a basic huge difference between playing and creating a Rock Paper Scissors. Just to clarify; are you looking to create this an online system to create, so its basically going to have the RPG "dice" like systems to pull at random or physically looking for RPS minigame? If so the best script I can see: http://rpgmaker.net/tutorials/284/ That would first help to clarify. Also for the record; I say you should go ahead and explore with flowers and crowns etc just to create that extra little twist

I will help you although my english is not that good and I had to use a translator to read this. Unfortunately the translator can only do one word at a time so it took me a good hour. Thanks a lot. I mean... you must be a silly brain if you don't know how to play RPS.
