Is black considered a color?

Is using different percentage tints of one color still considered one ink color?

  • if i were to design a logo and chose one specific color like C-100 M-0 Y-0 K-0 but used a variation of tints of the color such as 10%, 30%, and 80% tint, is the logo still considered a one ink color logo for printing? what about gradients of the same color in different tints?

  • Answer:

Yes. It's the same color just a different amount of ink will be used. The different colors are simply produced by higher or lower saturation of the same ink. Hope that answered your question.
