Answer:
I recently finished a great course at my local jr College, Santa Ana College, located in Santa Ana, S. California. It is a wonderful certificated program, that can be transfered to a State or Private University, as part of an AA or BA in Arts if other reqs are met. The S.A.C. program is run by a wonderful instructor/professor, Patricia Waterman, who designed the Digital Animation Prog. for U.C.I. (Univ. Cal. at Irvine). They have an exceptional program in visual graphics and effects. The S.A.C. however has won several major awards in State wide Digital/Graphic/Visual Art competitions over the past few years. The amazing thing is the cost is minimal. For a resident, the entire cost for the program will cost you about 1/5 of the price of a private or state school. They are well funded, and have the latest in hardware & softwares. They teach a variety of environments. Also in Orange, California ( Few miles from Disneyland in Anaheim) there is Chapman University, they have by far the most comprehensive film curriculim. They cover all arenas, from traditional photography and film making to the most modern hi tech visual effects, with a plethera of softwares and hardware. The cost is that of most private universities...steep, but it has very fine name in the industry. There are others art institutions in the U.S., ie..The Art Institute,. they have several locations...check on-line for information on these. All of the above can be researched by looking on-line. I wish you good luck. Last thought on this please don't dismiss the thought of trying a JC. It's not just where you study, but the time you are able to put into the work. My suggestion, save your money to support yourself while you study your backside off. Study for as long and as intensively as you can. I will be up to you to get what you will out of any program. Best wishes. R.G.
