How many 1976 pontiac formulas were made with shaker hoods were made?

How can I protect a piece of "art" - it is a frosting painting of the Alamo made by Sara Lee Corp in 1976.

  • I have a three by five foot "painting" of the Alamo made as part of the American Bicentennial by the Sara Lee corp. Considering it is 30+ years old, it has held up rather well, but it does have some damage and I would like to keep it from deteriorating further. Anyone have any ideas? Michael Frank of the Museum of Bad Art (museumofbadart.org) was kind enough to send me the following link discussing the background of this piece of, well for argument's sake let's just call it art at http://www.cactushill.com/1976/default.htm .     You better hide that in the back of your closet and not mention to anyone that you have it. Just forget about it, and your relatives will sell it at a garage sale when you die. Cheers!

you could sell them to a museum for them to put on display or you could show case them in a glass surrounding case!!!!!!

I would suggest using Krylon clear spray. Now first get some regular cake frosting and try it out with that. See what a LIGHT coating of the spray will do. If it does not seem to make the colors run, then proceed. Build up the coats very lightly. Let each coat dry for about an hour at least. The Krylon should hold it together and keep the ants and bugs from getting to it. Best of luck. I think you have a piece of Americana that is strange but hey, they have TV shows with guys sculpting art out of pure sugar. Remember the Alamo! and the Ala Mode!
