What are some good Art Sites?

What are some good art sharing sites?

  • I already know about deviantart, but I find it fairly bland in terms of content. I've also considered blogging sites like Tumblr and WordPress, but I'm a bit concerned about losing rights to my work. I'm not sure how much of an issue this would be on these sites. Any suggestions at all are welcome.

    Although you mention WordPress I'm guessing you were meaning WordPress.com. One option is to create your own WordPress site (hosted on your own server - relatively simple and only a few dollars a month). The best gallery plugin (I don't think you can use on wordpress.com) is NextGen gallery and they have an option to put a watermark on all your images (overlay of text or a logo on each image when it is uploaded). That will make it nearly impossible for someone to take your images. I know it sounds like a lot (to create a website) but it has become much easier than you would think with today's tools.
