How do I record a movie on direct t.v?

Why can't I record video everywhere in the city? Is it possible to make a movie anymore on the train?

  • In NYC the mass transit system is a beautiful testament to the power of the collective consciousness. I am a storyteller/flic-maker in the city and I can not seem to incorporate one of the things that supports this culture driven concrete jungle. The subway is a new experience every time. Literally. And yet if I point anything that resembles a camera for any extended period of time, I get the "can't do that here" scheme. Is there a way to compromise? Or is guerilla film-making the way of the future?

  • Answer:

New York City has a film commission. Contact them. You will need permits and all that; movies are made in the city all the time. The MTA has had rules for years about no allowing photography in the subways. Contact them for information on that. Many movies have been made in the subways of New York.
