How to put a logo on a guitar head?

I have a 200 dollar Ibanez acoustic. On the head of the guitar it says Ibanez in some fancy cursive crap or whatever. I want to replace that with my own word. I have gone through illustrator and created my "logo". The logo has many curves on it.. but I want to be able to transfer how it looks in illustrator to the guitar. What is a good way to go about doing this? I am assuming I am going to have to sand down the poly finish to the wood, repaint it black, (was considering making it white head instead, orange logo coloring. After the sand do I just paint back over, add the logo on the paint, then lacquer? This is a kind of personal project for me and I do not want to have someone do it for me. What are some tips, how would someone go about making this kind of a change to their guitar?

Hello there, If I were going to do that, I would get a sheet of decal paper (any office supply store should have it) and print my logo as a decal. Paint the color coat on the headstock. Then apply the logo. Shoot a coat of clear coat over that to keep it in place. I have seen homemade logos using a gold metallic ink for the decal that did look sharp. Later,
