How do they make animations? (Cartoons)?

  • I'd like to know how people make animations? I know they draw the characters speratly from the backgrounds right? So then, how do they make the backgrounds. Do they draw that a million times too? Or do they just make one big one and reuse it from frame to frame? I'd like some elaboration on this. Thank you.

    first, moving characters is draw frame by frame unlike the background, they just use one frame layer animators have different animation programs... but some of them usually for personal animation they tend to use flash, after effects, etc.
