How do i make an art portfolio for college?

• im only a sophomore in highschool. my art teachers say im really talented. im planning on being a photographer/artist & then a singer/songwriter on the side. how do i make an art portfolio for college? do i just get a foler & put my best drawings & pictures in there? thanks :]

  you make sure you have a lot of good drawings/photographs to chose from. So put really some time and effort in your work. Each university college will have a website where they put the portfolio requirements up. You will need to pick maybe 3-5 places you would like to go. Then you read carefully through the instructions and make sure your portfolio conforms to them. They will not be all the same. And if you do not conform to their specifications they may not even look at your work. Mostly you can submit your portfolio by CD, so eventually you will need to do some high quality scans or good digital photographs to convert them into digital images. And that means you should wait in buying any pretty portfolio cases until you are sure you really need them. Generally they do ask for different styles in your art, commonly one self portrait, some still life and work done in different media.
