Andy warhol question!!!!?
-
i bought an andy warhol bag online and just recieved it.. and inside the bag it came with a letter from the museum of modern art addressed to andy warhol. it came on a transparent piece of paper. does anyone know what that's about?

Answer:
It's in all of those bags. I own two, and the letters on vellum (the clear plastic paper) are in every bag. Best $40.00 I ever spent...they hold all of my art supplies, and are very durable:) It's just a reproduction of an actual rejection letter he got from the MOMA. Kinda tongue in cheek I guess, because obviously he was famous later in life, and they would love to have his paintings, now. it's just something they do to make the bag/sale unique, or get people interested. No biggie. But read up more an Andy...he was really interesting. Also, check out Jean Michel Basquiat:)

you may have something "personal" of his !

It's a copy of the letter the museum sent to warhol letting him know they declined his art work and why, this is just a little info tip the museums like to throw out to folks as a little,"Did you know"/ to make people think and learn. Now you know the museum turned down a complementary painting of his and if your mind rolls through it imagine what that painting would be worth today http://www.art.com/asp/View_HighZoomResPop.asp?apn=10071323&imgloc=8-838-Z000YYIA.jpg&imgwidth=775&imgheight=775

Not sure what your letter says but when I lived in NY I bought some Warhol things from the museum and they all came with something having to do with him. They had a huge exhibition there for him.

This is all a part of sales.

Wow, if it looks authentic, I would definitely call the museum and see why it was in your bag. Coincidentally, I'm doing a research paper on Andy Warhol--it would be cool to know what happened. :)
