How to make a red panda model (not out of paper mache)?

• I need to make a red panda model which would be reasonably small. How would I make it and how would i make the fur? I have a cavalier king charles spaniel that is white and brown if that helps.

  I would use polymer clay, like Sculpey. you can make fur texture by pressing a pin all over the clay a few hundred times. Since you mentioned you have a spaniel, I am thinking you want to use some of his fur? After you've baked the little clay sculpture, you can glue fur onto it.
