Is there a way to make homemade clay?

I have a junk of hard green clay. I want to make it into a powder, what is the best way to do this?

  I wouldn't eat clay unless you know for sure that it does not contain any unhealthy chemicals. Nor would I use it for mud packs or facials. As clay is usually not green you probably don't know what's in there and what the colorant is. Probably not just green food dye... it might turn your face green in more than one way... In addition clay contains silicates which if you breathe in can give you silicosis (an incurable disease) - which is why you should wear good (not the very cheap ones) dusk mask or a respirator when turning it into powder. If the clay is hard and dry you can us a hammer to get it into powder form or smaller pieces with a mortar and pistil.
