Does Claes oldenburg still make any art sculptures?

• For a gcse art i have to create a sculpture in the style of Claes Oldenburg. He takes everyday objects and remakes them but into giant sculptures. I am just stuck for an idea of what i could do, i want it to be something original and unique any ideas?

  Oldenburg does more than just make giant versions of ordinary objects. He adds a cartoonish kind of look to them. He made things we are used to seeing as rigid, big floppy stuffed versions. Like the drumset (google Oldenburg Drumset). Or do a search for the screw he made. here, I found it: http://jamesbrantley.net/5.21%20oldenburg.jpg He also sometimes makes his objects in wireframe format, like the giant baseball bat in Chicago, or the giant Umbrella which is just steel lines with no webbing. That might be the easiest thing for you to make. A wire frame version. Get some thin wire that will still be strong enough and do a wire sculpture. You can twist it together and you wont need many tools. Try making a lightbulb. You can suggest the volume of the bulb with as few as 2 or 3 wire contours, and you can do a spiral for the screw-in connection at the base, and do the filament with two wires going up and a spiral connecting them. Then hang it upsidedown from the ceiling - like many lightbulbs are ! You'll get an A. wow, that's actually a good idea. (light bulb goes on above my head).
