What type of clay can you use to make molds for metal jewelry?
-
I'm trying to make jewelry with PMC precious metal clay but i want to make the same pieces of jewelry at the same time. So I need to know what type of material or clay I can use to make molds for my jewelry.

Answer:
generally you make a mold you press the clay into. Then you fire the clay separately. That's going to be much much easier than making a mold in which you can fire your clay (the mold would need to be heat resistant and water free). There is also no reason to do so. Here some short recommendations for possible mold materials. http://www.peninkpaper.com/howto/molds.htm depending on the mold material you might need some release agent to put onto your mold.
