Ideas for a ceramic gift?

  • I wana make my girlfriend something in ceramics class but i have no idea what to make. Our project is to make a bottle in the form of anything we want but i dont know what to do for my girlfriend. I was thinking a heart but that is so original. i want to give her something creative and cute... Any ideas???

First instincts are always good..Do what you wanted but with a twist. For Example: Make an odd shaped semi standing heart vase. Put a finger hole towards the top create a cube and color it differently that fits in the hole. or Make an upside down heart have the top ( which is the bottom of the heart ) open like fish lips. Insert a series of pencil sized holes around the top. Present it to her with fresh or silk flowers she can later use it for a pencil holder. And a note like... We may be a round hole with a square peg but somehow we fit. I love you from the bottom of my heart.

The fact that it has to be a bottle sure makes it a challenge. Maybe a streamlined, abstract version of her favorite animal or bird? Or a beautiful bottle for making an oil diffuser, glazed in a couple of her favorite colors -- you know, those bottles that hold a nice scented oil that soaks up into little reeds.
