Well, here's one that's nearly a frontal view. You actually get a better sense of gargoyles from the side, and that is how many of them were meant to be seen -- from the side or an oblique angle, even from the ground, they contributed to the complexity of the architectural profile. That's one reason why they are often photographed from the side. (The other reason is that it's much easier for the photographer to do it that way.)
