Base your project on what type of shape is easiest for you to make. When we were using clay in art class, it was easiest for me to make flat sheets/slabs of clay, so I made decorated square/rectangular boxes. However, for some of my classmates, it was easiest to make coils and rolls, so they made projects that were more circular/rounded using the "coil pot" style. So whether you should make a project based on flat boxy shapes or on rounded shapes depends on what is easier for you.

make an ash tray those are always popular, and my parents still have 5 ash trays that i made laying around their house. they both smoke like chimneys, so ash trays are always good to have, plus all their friends that come over and visit constantly smoke a LOT. i grew up around second hand smoke a lot, and my ash trays encouraged them to smoke more cuz they wanted to cover my non-talent up lmao.

A penis. It's a pretty simple shape. If you teacher freaks out about it,tell her/him that it's a rocket or missile then tell them that you are really shocked that their minds are so far in the gutter! It's a win/win situation, go for it!
