Is loose material inside bronze statue common?

Scam by Large Art or Richard Rist Bronze Statue for Fallen Soldier Memorial not US made?

  • I am looking for a memorial statue for my big brother who was killed in action. The Fallen Soldier Memorial I found was made by Large Art or Richard Rist is made in Mexico and he is lying to people telling them that his bronze is US made. I spoke with Large Art Company and they told me the bronze was US made then when I pushed it they broke down and finely admitted that it was made in Tijuana Mexico but said the quality was fine. And I found out by reading complaints from others on the web that it was made in Mexico for about $350 and is very low quality. He has lowered his price to $4,400. form $6,000. Should I buy this one? I would like to have a very nice US made bronze Fallen Soldier Memorial bronze with the gun and boots can anyone tell me where to find one? I don't feel this guy is telling the truth he already lied to me once. and I don't want to have my brothers memory tarnished by this. I would like to remember my brother and his service to our country with the a American made statue!

Sorry to hear about your brother, if you do a Yahoo search you will find many others making memorial bronzes that are very close to the piece done by Large Art. There are at least 4 artists in the US making very close pieces. Here is one I found sculpted by Stan Watts and made by a trusted US foundry named ICON Statues out of Utah and they sell it for about $5,800.00 http://iconstatues.com/Fallen%20Soldier%20Memorial%20Bronze%20statue%208%20feet%20tall.htm I looked at large arts website and he does claim his piece is made in the U.S. There is also a lot of hype and bs he trying to build his company up.
