What are some Ceramics Techniques?

Any fun techniques with Cone 06 glazes for ceramics? ?

    Have you thought of building a pit fire? You wouldn't even really need a lot of glazes, per se. Instead, you could use iodine, leaves, string, horse hair, salt, etc. Pit pieces can be beautiful. I've got several pieces that, before putting in the pit, I hated. After, I was amazed at how beautiful they can be. If you've got questions, feel free to ask! I've done pit several times and wouldn't mind to help at all. :-D

I am not sure how you get your bisque. The ceramic class I take, we start with clay in the big barrel and work from there. I have done some pieces cone 06 but most are cone 10 in reduction You could get some under-glaze pencils and draw with those. The pencils are covered with a clear glaze. There are under glaze crayons. They are more like pastels and they can give a very soft dreamy pattern under clear glaze There are some other under-glazes that stay close in color after they are fired. Those under-glazes can be painted on. You could take 2 or 3 colors and do a sponge color. Take same colors and try to marbleize them You can use string and strips of paper to mask when applying layers of glaze You can try to imitate some texture cloth, bark, leaves
