Is a piece of the Berlin wall worth anything?

If a person has a piece of the Berlin Wall is it worth anything? And if so, how much is it worth?

• My friend has a piece of the wall and we are just curious. His daughter brought it home with her from when she was stationed over there and gave it to him.

  I'm only taking a guess here, but, seems that because there are thousands of pieces from the Berlin Wall being held by a lot of people, it wouldn't be worth a lot. A collector might but don't think he would pay much. And then how can it be proved it's actually from the wall? I personally own a "ping-pong" type ball that went to the moon back in 1969. My father-in-law worked for McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis and when the shuttle came back - everyone who worked on the project got one. There are over a 1000 owned by those fanilies. I don't think mine is worth much. But it sure came in handy for "Show and Tell" when the kids were in school.
