How to match Android Camera Preview correctly?

Adobe Bridge shows icons instead of preview images when reading from the camera?

• To edit/view photos from my camera, normally I pop the card out of the camera and pop it into either a card reader or the SD slot on either my desktop or laptop. Works like a charm, I see the preview images just fine. Recently, to save wear and tear on my cards/card slot on my camera, I tried using the USB data cable instead, but when I try to access images this way through Adobe Bridge (CS3), it only shows the CR2 icon, no preview image. I have the correct Camera Raw plug in (my camera only requires version 4.4 and I had that, even installed 4.6 just to be sure, no dice) so that's not it, because this only happens when I use the USB cable and not when I use the card reader on either computer. Any ideas?

  It's because the camera doesn't create preview images, that is a function of your computer's file system. The computer can't write to your camera via the cable, but if you insert the card into the computer it mounts it as a drive with full permissions. There shouldn't be any wear to worry about using the card, the only thing that could wear would be the reader and those are long lasting and cheap.
