How do you rotate a video?

How do I rotate a video taken by my camera so that it can be viewed upright?

  • Okay, I'm really feeling silly about this, but while using my little Canon Powershot Camera to take a "video" shot of a friend, I turned the camera vertically so there was a "full-length" shot of her birthday antics. The only way to view the video now is to turn your head sideways. Duh!! My sister did this with a video camera for a friend's wedding awhile ago, and that was a huge bummer, as you might imagine! I should have learned from her!! It would be easy enough to correct if it was just a single photo; I could just rotate the picture in the software. Is it possible, however, to "rotate" a video shot taken from a camera? I'm getting a crick in my neck! Thanks, in advance!

Something you might look into is Windows Movie Maker, it's a free download and with any amount of luck it should do exactly what you need it to. Good luck!! :-D

I one time made the same "Vertical" video shot by mistake. I used ACDSee opened the video file, "Extract" all files, next step, "Rotate" all files right 90 degree and Save all files back into movie. Good Luck!
