A watermark is put on an image so that someone won't steal the image and claim it as their own. They are very hard to remove, and impossible to remove well. Sounds like you're trying to steal an art piece. No offense.

I hope you understand that you're asking a bunch of photographers how to rip-off one of their own. The point of a watermark is to prevent theft and/or unauthorized use of a copyrighted image. Contact the photographer, inquire about usage rights, and pay them their due.

Why? Ask the person who put the watermark there to remove it. Or look for the de-watermark tool. It's a plug-in, so you may have to buy it to remove someone's watermark.

Contact the owner of the COPYRIGHTED image and buy it from them. That saves you the embarrassment of being prosecuted for copyright violation. It also saves you the money you'll spend on a lawyer. More importantly, it keeps you out of jail.

As for video - use a cropping tool (e.g. VidCrop) if your watermark isn't big and is situated in the corner of the video.
