Which point and shoot camera takes good indoor pictures?

Point and shoot digital camera that takes high quality photos?

  • I need a point and shoot style digital camera to take head shots with mainly outdoors. What model brand/model point and shoot camera will take the best quality photos? I want really crisp and clear photos with no blurriness or distortion. Any recommendations? I'm hoping to spend under $200.

  • Answer:

Just had a look at Amazon prices - a used Canon S90 would (barely) be within your range. Even a used Canon G11 will run over 300$, at which point you might as well get a new Canon S95.

For the demands that you list at the price you allow, I suggest you look for a used Canon G9 or G10.

Stay away from commercial brands such as Canon, Nikon, Sony etc if you want a good P&S. The lenses in those cheap cameras are... cheap! Try something like Ricoh GR Digital III or IV, perfect lens. It's a professional camera in a small body.

I would highly recommend the Canon ELPH 300 HS Powershot. It's about $140 on Amazon and Target. It's amazinggg. so many effects & it focuses while you're shooting video.

Personally I don't believe that a point and shoot should even have high quality potential... Go the extra mile and get a beginner DSLR.... May I Recommend the Canon T3... Its price is decent enough.

blurriness usually comes from the photographer (not the camera). You need to hold the camera still or use flash.
