How do you change the focus screen on a Minolta SR-7?

• i got a Minolta SR-7 from shopgoodwill.com for 30.00 It works ok but the focus screen is damaged from when I tried to clean it so now I need to replace it

  Unfortunately, finding another focusing screen for your SR-7 will be all but impossible. Are you sure its the focusing screen you tried to clean? After all, to access the focusing screen you'd have to disassemble the camera. If you tried to clean the mirror then you're really going to have problems since replacing the mirror will require the services of a trained camera repair technician. I suggest emailing Dave at [email protected] He told me he occasionally has spare parts left over from his many years as a full-time repair tech. He's semi-retired now. Dave repaired my Minolta 85mm f1.7 portrait lens for $85.00. On eBay I've seen the same lens go for over $300.00 so I considered $85.00 a real bargain. Maybe you'll get lucky and Dave will have the part needed and be able to fix your camera.
