How to print 1 large image which is 4 quarters equalling the one image?4x A4 Sheets combined to make the image?

how can i do this either on my inkjet printer settings?or is there a name for this type of printing?I have no idea,or perhaps a free website I can use for the setting?any help is great.thankyou!

Printer paper and Photo prints are two different sizes. For example, A4 is 210x297mm (8.27 × 11.69 inches), U.S. letter size paper is 8.5x11inches, and the closest photo print to those are 8"x10" or 8"x12" (called "20 × 30 cm" prints). The two ways I can think of are using your editing software to: 1) Size the image to the final size (A4 is 210×297mm so a 4x4A photo would be 420x594 ), then have that image printed and trim it into quarters. 2) Size the image to the final size, then crop out 4 individual photos from that for printing For example (using "standard" photo sizes), I could print a 16"x20" image and cut it into 4- 8x10 photos OR size it to 16x20 in my editor, then set my crop tool to 8x10x300dpi and divide the image into the 4-8x10's for printing. ADDT'L: The best place to start would be the manual that came with the printer or contacting Canon Customer Service at 13 13 83 (per http://www.canon.com.au/About-Canon/Contact/Contact-Details ) In my examples above, I either have the larger photo printed at a local photo lab and then I trim it or I crop the 4 images and print them seperately. I have never tried to get a printer to do it automatically for me.
