What are some flattering poses for people with oblong faces?

What types of poses do people normally do in their portfolio for modeling?

• im a teenager im working on getting my portfolio together and was wondering what types of poses do you do for a portfolio? like the poses that you see in the teen mags or like sexy poses? im not really sure oh and i know you have your hair different ways in a portfolio which ways would you style them?

• Answer:

  Just wear minimal to no makeup, and leave your hair natural, or lightly styled. The photographers want to see YOU, so they can decide if your look fits what they want. As for clothing, wear something simple and form fitting, they also need to gather an idea of what your body looks like. (I would suggest a tank-top and shorts or something like that, you can also take photos in various, more stylish outfits). For poses, don't go for the skanky route. Do some from all angles, give them a side view, front, back (my favourite is when the model is looking over their shoulder), headshots, bodyshots, portraits, beauty, etc. They don't have to be professional, but having a good variety is essential.
