What's it like to be a wildlife tech?

Whats a good film camera for beginners in the "professional" area, wildlife filming mostly, budget price?

  • I want to start doing professional film making, but im a beginner in the professional area if you could say so. I want to move on to the next step, buy a new film camera which is more professional but still budget price, second hand. Ill film mostly wildlife, savanna and things like that, but also casual every day life. (Documentaries) Anyone knows a suitable film camera?

  • Answer:

Why are you starting out w/ film in lieu of digital? They are not normally used much anymore. If it must be film check with B&H Photo/Video or KEH, both very reputable companies that are safe to purchase used equipment from and look for a Nikon F3, FM, FG, F100, or Pentax ME Super, K1000, etc. They will typically be reasonable. Buy a 9 or better grade or excellent plus grade. There are more good brands like Canon, Minolta, Kodak, etc. but I know, personally that the Nikons and Pentaxes are reliable.
