What is a grain-free photo?

What's the best way to recreate the photo booth effect?

  • I want to set up a photo booth in my house that will make pictures that look like actual old photo booth pictures. I tried to Google this, but only found a bunch of new-school wedding photo booths that look dumb (no offense). They don't look anything like the pictures from old photo booths. Best answer award goes to the first person to post a link to a tutorial that results in old school looking photo booth photos. Photoshopping is not out of the question. And I can Photoshop them into a strip of 4, that's not the issue here. What's the best way to recreate the look of old school photo booth pictures? I want to see a tutorial for that.

  • Answer:

Open the image in Photoshop, select Image > Mode > Grayscale.
