Which elements are oxidized?

Which One, Paintshop Pro or Elements 5?

  • I have elements installed on my other computer but it's a piece of crap and I can barely run it let alone edit images. Assuming I can get it onto my better computer (Can I?), should I even bother considering how much better Paintshop Pro X2 Looks? Or, alternatively, Elements 6? Could you please tell me the benefits of Corel's painshop vs. Adobe's Elements 5 & 6? All I know about Paintshop Pro X2 is that it has a neat exposure merging thing, which looks amazing to me. Does Elements 6 have that? Also, does Paintshop Pro X2 have tools like photoshop, such as dodge/burn, lasso, clonestamp (very important) smudge/blur, brush, pen, etc.? What tools does it have that Elements 5 or 6 doesn't? Also, could you tell me the overall costs for each and every version and variant of these? THnx!

  • Answer:

I use Photoshop Elements 5.0 and I think it's a great program. It lacks total control over curves, that I think I might like, but so far - I have nto wished for more. PE 6.0 is now out and Adobe claims that it has enhanced Brightness/Contrast tools, Clone tool and Black and White Conversion tool. The other enhancements seem to deal with merging photos (panoramic stitching) and organizing your photos. Here are my personal favorites, just to show what PE 5.0 can do. Some have almost zero post work done at all and some have "a little." Just one is really goosed up. You might not like the photography, but you certainly could not call the software a piece of crap. http://www.flickr.com/photos/samfeinstein/tags/favorite/ Just go here http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/ and click "Free Trial" for a 30-day free trial of PE 6.0.
