Why is that my film came out of focus?

Trouble adjusting focus on Minolta XG-9 Film Camera?

  • I have an xg-9 Minolta film camera that I was using the other day and I found that when I would move the focus ring to bring my subject into focus, it would become very tight feeling and it would take a lot of effort to turn the ring. I had the camera on A and I had a vivtar flash unit attached to it, I'm not sure this has anything to do with it. The tightness/slowness when adjusting the focus didn't happen each time, but occasionally it would. Help!

  • Answer:

Since your camera/lens is manual focus, the tightness in using the focusing ring shows that your lens is damaged or extremely dirty Take your camera and lens to a proper camera repair shop and have them do their magic Here is the user manual for your camera http://www.cameramanuals.org/minolta_pdf/minolta_xg-9.pdf
