How to make a picture smaller?

Hey i have a really pretty picture on facebook that i want to be my profile picture! But there is a problem when i try to make it my profile picture my picture is so big all you see is half my face! How can you not crop the picture but make the whole picture smaller to fit in there or any way just to make a picture smaller? THANKS!

1.Go to www.picnik.com 2. Ignore the warning about it shutting down in APRIL. Press the "Get started now!" button. 3.Press "Upload a photo", browse, then choose a photo. 4.Go to "Basic edits" 5.Press "Resize" and choose your size. 6.Press "Save and share" 7. Choose "Facebook", or download it to your computer.If you downloaded it to your computer, upload it to Facebook.
