What is the best way to promote a photo to win a photo contest? Will you help?

  • basically its a FB photo comp, im in the 10 finalists. The photo that is leading in my mind shouldn't be in the top 5 (mine isn't the best one either). So basically the winner won't be the best but the person who has the most friends, I don't really like that but it means i have to basically promote my photo to have a chance. So, my question is what do you think the best way for me to promote it is? And will you help me by clicking "like" on the photo here (its a FB link so nothing dodgy).     Promote? The photo should stand on its own as the best based upon its content and technical perfection. The colour and clouds are brilliant. Too bad you did not straighten the horizon so that the water is not running out the right side of the photo and that you did not place the sun to one side or the other to complete the rule of thirds which you seem to be using ... or not This is what I am talking about. http://i40.tinypic.com/i3gjuv.jpg

What you are describing is not a photo contest, it's a popularity contest; it's quite obvious that the criteria for winning have nothing to do with photographic merit, and rely entirely on getting misguided individuals to tell you that they 'like' your work, regardless of the fact that it wouldn't get past the first hurdle of a proper photographic competition. I should also point out that by soliciting votes you are violating Y!A's terms and conditions of use. You are wasting your own and others' time.
