  • Answer:

I printed a 12"x18" print from my Canon Rebel XT (8.2 megapixels) with no problesm whatsoever. I would think that you can blow it up bigger than that. What you can do is take it to your nearest camera store (not a drug store where you can prints made or a big dealer like Circuit City but a small camera shop) and they should be able to tell you exactly how big a certain picture can be blow up to. Then again, I don't know exactly how big a A2 size print it, so this might not be much of a help. As long as the origional pictures is clear and of good quailty, you should be good. As far as in photoshop, I would save everything you are working in as a .TIFF file. This doesn't decrease your file quality when you edit like it would in a .JPG format. Before you go to print them out at a store change them back into a .JPG fomat. This is what most computers read and can print from and the file quailty will still be good as long as you don't edit the .JPG. You might want to look into shooting in RAW which gives you a much bigger file size and you might be able to blow it up bigger.
