Are there any good sites to teach me photography?

Fair Trade Stock Photography sites?

  • ok so now i really want to sell my pics not interested in getting just a dollar for it .... when i know if they do buy they will b making more off of it ... so finally chanced upon a site http://www.photographersdirect.com/ n their ideas line up with mine ... what they call it is Fair Trade Stock Photography.... 1..does anyone know abt the authenticy and validty of this site ... if they r real good ... 2...and /OR if there are other sites like these wher i can sell my stuff for more than paltry sums ? does anyone have any experice with this site ? to clarify ... sites like shutterstock , istock, 123rf alll are Microstock sites (which sell Royalty Free images for 1 to 50 dollars) prey on the lack of industry-experience of amateur photographers. so this is not what i want to go for .... i have no idea if my pics are great .... but if someone feels they r i want to get the money i derserve rather than being conned into what they sercrtly will know is a steal .... and which i wil realise maybe yrs later .... so until someone tells me ive got no potential ... i really think i can get more than one dollar for my pics !!! ok back to my questions ... someone out ther plz help me out ... n those of u intersted in stuff like this ... do check up the site ..... im real hppy with it !!! but i just need a shout out from those who know abt it .... or who have done some work with photographers direct. thanks all thanks !!

Check out http://www.photoshelter.com http://www.MIRA.com photographer co-op You are correct if your images are outstanding you can get more than $1 an image. Actually the micro paying stock site pay less than that, they charge the $1 to the client and the photographer only gets 20% of that. The photographer still has to pay tax on that as well as pay for the camera, electricity, time and other cost related to the images submitted. I am amazed that people are willing to give away their photography for so little. I don't care if they have another full time job or are house wives. Who wants to be taken to the cleaner like this? That said not every image created will be licensed for stock. Actually about 80+% will not. The key is to do your market research and create unique images that people want to purchase. Check out the links above.
