What is the basic care for ice-skates?

Lens care? what are the basic things i should take care of to make my lenses last?

    * Do NOT touch either the front or rear exposed elements. * Keep the lens caps on the lenses when they are not being used on the camera * Keep a UV or protective filter on the front of the lens to protect the lenses front element from sticky fingers, flying mud or rain * Protect it from dust by storing it in some kind of lens case, hard or soft * Do NOT drop it. I have lenses that are over 60 years old that still work flawlessly

Keeping them blown free of dust and grit is the most important thing. Cleaning the glass elements carefully when needed -- using only your breath to fog them up and a clean micro-fiber cloth to carefully wipe -- is another. You'll hear some people say to keep a UV filter on them -- poppycock. I've been doing paid photography for 38 years, and have never, ever kept UV filters on my lenses. I'm still using several that I bought over 30 years ago, and they're in perfect, as-new condition. If you want the visual effect a filter gives, put it on. If you don't, take it off. Keeping one on all the time does nothing but degrade the quality of your lenses. Peace.

The cloth you buy to clean the smudges and dust from your lens. Replace it every so often, because it builds up dirt and will scratch your lens over time. Such a cheap item to buy to take care of your lens.
