What are good model agencies in New York?

What does this mean? Are modeling agencies required to say this? Should i take it negatively or positively?

  • I had sent many of my digital photos to many modeling agencies in NYC through email... 2 have responded. One from New York models said: Thanks so much for sending your photos to New York Model Management. After reviewing your photos, we feel you are very beautiful but not what we are looking for at this time..and one from Click models wrote:Thank you for your interest in Click Model Management New York. Although you have a unique look, we are not interested in representing you.

    Did you check their submission policy? Here in Michigan many of the agencies require you mail them in, they do not pay attention to email submissions. They usually require a full length frontal, close up and close up profile. Be sure to include your stats; age, height, weight & sometimes measurements. Don't forget to include your name, address, phone, cell and email. This way they can have a "file" on you. And when a job comes along that requires what you have to offer, they can get in touch with you.

They are being polite and professional. Saying however you may be beautiful you are not what this agency is looking for. It's the same if you get turned down for any job or at least by a reputable company. Don't get discouraged

dont take it offensively, there are many models out there and they are not lying to you. you might be beautiful, but maybe there are 20 other girls like you out there. you need to show them versatility. that you are able to switch it up for different clients. dont be loose hope, keep trying i am sure you can make it

If you are serious about getting into modeling, you better be ready for rejection. It is just part of the game. Do not take it personally. Just keep trying. Many great writers were rejected by book publishers before they "made it". I submit photos to art galleries all over the world. I get some accepted.. I get some rejected. That is just life.. especially in the VERY competitve field of modeling. Others have also given you very good answers... just don't give up on your dream if it is what you really want. You may make it, you may not, but don't let some early rejections discourage you. Best to you, steve

That is a very professional respond. Each modeling agency looks for a specific look.Try sending pictures to smaller markets first. I gather big agencies would like to see real live images of you in commercial work. IF you are just starting out they don't want to take the risk.

I wouldn't allow that to discourage me. First of all you have taking your desire to a new height. A lot of qualified models are only that Qualified. You are qualified from their responds and capable to take it to another level. It sounds like you have something special, something uniquely different. As an associate of a Modeling Agency here in Saint Louis modeling is hard. There is so much competition,and if an agency is seeking candents they already have a idea of what they are looking for. Your style at that time didn't fit the bill. That doesn't mean you don't have what it takes. Sometimes you have to delight yourself in the Lord and He shall give thee the desires of your heart. Time out for you responding to their adds! You need to show them why they need someone with your style. If you can get them to believe in you... I will see you doing photo shoots in the upcoming years.
