How do I write a Photography Price Quote?

• I am a photographer and am up for a great gig but the company has asked me for a "detailed price quote, including expenses." I have no idea what a photography price quote should look like. Of course I could just fudge it but this is a very professional job and I would like to submit something very professional. Does anyone know where I can find a real photographer price quote?   ASMP has some guidelines for doing quotes, but I am surprised you have never submitted a quote before. All I can say is talk to them and see what rights they want to purchase from you and then go from there. There is basically a "day rate" and that pays to have you there shooting. Your expenses must be paid up front. You will need a detailed shooting schedule so you know where you have to be when and how many nights you will need to reserve in how many hotels. Transportation is another expense that has to be considered, plus food, well I think you get the drift. Rights and usage is a whole different matter and will take the most time to calculate. In the end you will have three "different" checks. Expenses paid in advance. Day rate paid at the end of the shoot (usually when you hand them the images). Rights and usage check paid when the work is published.
