Where can I get medical experience?

Where can I get photography work experience as a student?

  • I'm a student in sixth form and interested in doing Photography at university but I have been told I may need to have done some work experience revolving around my chosen course. Since it seems people usually hire professional and/or qualified photographers I'm not really sure how to go about looking or where to find work experience that will count towards applying at university. If can anyone can direct me in the right direction it would be helpful (: Also, I'm interested in being a freelance photographer rather than being hired for events but any work experience will do.

    My recommendation would be to find a professional photographer in your area who does the kind of work you're interested in. Ask to work as an assistant or intern; even if the position is unpaid, it will provide you with priceless learning and hands-on experiences, as well as give you the head-start knowledge to get you into and through your Uni coursework. I am in 11th grade so I cant answer your whole question... Ive taken a photography class and photoshop class the whole time ive been in high school so if your school has electives for photography you should take them. Also I would say just take pictures wherever you can. My family goes to rodeos a lot and we are friends with the stock contractors and theyve asked me beofre to take pictures of certain animals for them. Also you can send in pictures to your newspaper and maybe they will use it. And try to find contests to enter online and stuff.
