How to shoot your own film?

How to shoot pictures with 100iso Film.?

  • I am a beginner in film photography and I recently picked up a roll of 100iso film speed. Was wondering if anyone could give me tips on using 100iso, shutter speeds, apeture settings, what kind of scenery work best for 100iso etc.

  • Answer:

Before you waste tons of money on film and development, go read up on exposure. A good book is "Understanding Exposure". I can;t tell you what settings to use with ISO 100 film because it is going to be dependent on ambient light, light you might be supplying to the scene, maximum apperture your lens can go to ... shutter speed will depend on movement in the scene as well as the tother factors above ... Too many variables to work with.

What you are asking is not really possible. There are way too many variables to give you an answer. As someone else mentioned, use your camera meter, it will get you close. You need to learn a lot about photography and it's not hard to do. Try to learn about aperture, ISO and shutter speed.

You clearly don't know anything about photography. Please take a class or read a basic photography book.

use the light meter in the camera

There are a lot of variables involved as mentioned above, two things to keep in mind are that 100 is relatively slow film, and you won't be able to use it in low light situations, and that it is a fine-grained film.

Use the Search box at the top of this page and look for the "Sunny f/16 Rule".
