How do you sign your photography prints?

Can anyone give me suggestions on how to price fine-art prints of my photography?

  • I'm trying to make a little money selling fine-art prints of my photography through a website (and before anyone says anything, yes I do retain all of my copyrights and intellectual property) which lets me set my own prices for prints - I just need to decide how much I want to earn and set a base price, and the website adds their costs to my base price to determine a final price for the customer. but I really have no idea where to even begin pricing. I want to keep my prices reasonably low though, since this is basically just an on-the-side thing and so sales will come easier. Any ideas?

  • Answer:

It depends on how good your images are, the print size, and if you're only supplying a print or a framed photo. I would suggest looking around for images that are similar to yours, and see what others are charging. A good starting price for archival prints is $50 for 8.5x11 and $100 for 13x19. Have Fun, Jeff

What kind of paper and process are you using? Hand signed? Collectors will generally pay more for Cibachrome than RA4.
