Is this modeling website a scam?

What is the best way to find work modeling for commercial print and promotional modeling?

  • I am in my early 30's, female and petite, and I would like to do some modeling work. However, I have heard so much about agencies being a scam that I am afraid to work with one. I would like to do commercial print, and maybe promotional. How do I find the jobs myself? I have some nice professional photos of myself already that I can use for a portfolio, but I am not sure how to go about finding the work. There is a website that I would have to pay a small monthly fee to use and it uses Acency Pro software. Is this something legitimate to do to find work, or are companies not even searching for models that way?

  • Answer:

Those type of jobs are almost all booked through agencies The biggest commercial print agencies are in NYC - FFT, Lauren Green, Rick Miller, Flaunt Agency, Abrams Artists For promo work you need to find a promotional modeling agency. It might also be called "event model" or "trade show model" depending on where you live. This work is always booked through an agency. A promo model agency is basically just like a temp agency. You get paid an hourly rate and the longer you've been signed up with the agency, the more work you'll get.
