Where to buy stock photos?

I need to use Stock photos on occassion. While I find it is cheap to access stock photos if you subscribe to a stock photo libary (less than $1) most websites seem to only sell those photos on demand at prices around $50. Where can I get stock photos at a fair price?

$50 is a very fair price for commercial/editorial use of photographs.
$50 is pretty fair. I sell my stock photos for 10 to 100 times that amount.
